We also see some deserts and vaguely Southwestern concepts thrown in, but there's not a lot of restraint on the Fantasy side, so the Western portion can get pretty washed out. For the most part, it comes off as generic Fantasy with a bunch of gunslingers and pistols. Now's a good time to mention Eternal's theme: It's a Fantasy Western. There are 37 cards of type Yeti or that reward Yetis, so you've got some options I just wish so much of the deck wasn't already built for you, in terms of card choices. I discovered Iceberg Scattershot and was excited to play it in a Fire-based infiltrate deck… until my opponent played all the cards you are required to play with it: Wump, Party Starter Slushdumper Thudrock, Arctic Artisan and Scouting Party. (Also, the game has all ten color pairs already defined from the start, which is good and bad.) It's great to see so much tribal support right from the start I like that there's cross-tribal synergy between Wisps and Radiants and I appreciate that all the tribes are spread across two or more colors. Eternal has significant support for a number of unique tribes: Wisps & Radiants, Grenadin, Valkyrie, Gunslingers, Dinosaurs, Strangers, Unseen, Yeti, and more. She's a meta-dependent card rather than a bad one.Let's talk tribal. If the rest of the board is bigger than Pioneer, opponent topdecking Slay/Vanquish/Banish/Deathstrike/Annihilate/Harsh Rule/whatever doesn't mean jack shit. Aggro would kill someone like Pioneer with a 1-mana fast spell anyway, and any 2-cost or higher card draw spells will result in opponent not getting the card and fucking up their turn in other ways. She's about just as durable as Prince is, with upside of protecting the rest of your board from removal. If she were a 5/5, I'd personally call her a better False Prince immediately, but not triggering "5-attack matters" cards in Time is an actual cost. They keep repeating the stance "Oh, it dies to Seek Power", but I want to bloody hell see the meta where Seek Power is held in your hand for Daring Pioneer rather than played immediately for power/influence. I think Daring Pioneer is WAY better than people give credit.

First of all, Common Cause is neat, people have been asking for more Power options, and I think Common Cause is at least a wee bit more playable than just in tribal decks because if you are colour-screwed, you'll likely have 2 cards of same tribe locked behind the screw anyway.īut that's not what I'm passionate about right now. Nope.unless there's some crazy armor gain being added.Īlways goods to see yeti synergy.even if it's on a giant.Ĭan't imagine the doorbot will see play, fire is not usually looking for blockers and having to cast something else to get him to do anything is probably too big of a drawback.Ĭlick to shrink. I think Gilded Hammer will have to be incredible for Last Stand to be played, no idea how that card will end up in any decks at this point.ĮDIT: So Gilded Hammer was spoiled as well, vanilla 6/6 relic weapon. The two legendaries are interesting, not sure how Curiox will fair.7/7 flying for 6 is great but the chances of him coming out on that turn aren't, don't know if there will be some additional mana fixing though. Regarding 3 faction cards, I believe we were told that they wouldn't be representative of the set and are more or less rarities which is good because a few of the dual factions still need some help. I remember saying I would make an official thread when the game officially releases, still can't believe we're waiting, hopefully there's some additional news on that once this sets hits. Super pumped about a new set, a complete change in meta is always welcomed, though besides from a couple decks I never found Eternal's meta to be particularly stale (looking at you Rally Queen and Chalice). Yay, finally a thread for the best CCG out there right now. There will be no wipes when it does, rest assured, can start playing without worry. Don't know what's the holdup with Dire Wolf Digital, but the game is more than ready to leave Early Access. The game is already polished up and very much feature complete. Wait, isn't this still an Early Access game and they're releasing expans. When The Dusk Road releases the Founder Package deals will be removed from store Nightfall, Ally and Bond have been mentioned, details to come later. (Platforms are Steam, AppStore & Google Play)ĭire Wolf Digital has stated they aim to release the expansion still in 2017, but slight delays are still possible. Eternal is a strongly Magic the Gathering inspired F2P digital card game, created by various MtG vets like Luis Scott-Vargas.
